The Manor House hotel

I recently went to a wedding at The Manor House Hotel, in West Aukland. The Manor House Hotel is a 3* hotel, basically in the middle of nowhere, but with phone signal. We paid £90 for a twin room for two people, including breakfast.

Breakfast, you had a choice of 5 or 6 cooked meals, which I got a full English breakfast and only ate the sausage and beans because I don't like the rest. You also got a buffer continental breakfast which included cereals, fruits, yogurts, toast, things like that.

It was quite expensive for everything in the hotel. Considering it was only 3* I think the prices were a bit steep. For 2 cups of tea and half a pint of coke, it was nearly £8. For up north where I am that's expensive.

DISCLAIMER - ALL opinions are my own and will be honest opinions. I was not paid to say anything in this blog post
As you walk into the room this is the view you're greeted with. Not going to lie, this is nothing that I expected for the price we paid (it was cheaper on other websites too) for it. I expected a little bigger and a little more modern. One of the first things I noticed is the bedding, and the size of the beds. To the right when you walked in the door was a dresser/office area. One thing I did like was the mirror, I like the dark wood effect of it against the white wall. In the very corner was a tea and coffee bar with complimentary bourbons.
Now, onto the beds. They were definitely shorter than and standard bed. I'm 5 "5 and my feet were hanging off the end. The headboard and bed side tables had been painted Grey and had basic lamps on top. They were very comfortable beds though. But the duvets could've been a bit bigger I think.

In the corner, there was a little chair. Which I suppose like a little reading corner. I love love love the window. As its an old manor house its still got all the old fashioned pull-up windows in and they're my favourite. The only thing we used the chair for was putting out suitcase on.

The last room is obviously the bathroom. There are a toilet and two mirrors but they couldn't fit in the photo. The bath room was quite nice and a normal size for a bathroom. The shower looked amazing I'm so sad I didn't try it out. The complimentary shower gel and soap where by a brand called 'lavenie' which I've never heard of. We also didn't use them. They were smaller than any complementarities I've ever gotton.

Personally, I wouldn't stay there again. But I would like to go and have a spa day in the spa they have, as the prices for that don't seem too bad.

Thank you to The Manor House Hotel staff and chef for the food at the wedding.
